Mission: To empower all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring community members.


The Boys and Girls Club of Rochester is part of a National organization; BGC has more than 4,000 locations nationally with 4.6 million kids served; 4 characteristics BGCs: Dedicated youth facility, Open daily, Professional Staff, and Available/affordable for all youth

The Boys & Girls Club Provides:
  • A safe place for all youth to learn and grow
  • Ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals
  • Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences
    • 1) Character & Leadership Development
    • 2) Education & Career Development
    • 3) Health & Life Skills
    • 4) The Arts
    • 5) Sports, Fitness, & Recreation
  • Hope and opportunity

The club strives to:

  • Nurture youth
  • Provide a safe and healthy environment during non-school hours for all children regardless of socioeconomic status
  • Instill a positive self-identity in each member of the Club

Boys & Girls Club Facts:

  • Serves youth ages 6-18, regardless of socioeconomic status
  • Costs $10 per year for 1800 hours of programming (the Club is open more hours during a year than the public schools)
  • Serves 2300 youth annually
  • Over 210 kids attend the Boys & Girls Club in Rochester each day
  • 70% of Club members come from single-parent families
  • 70% of Club members receive free or reduced lunch
